This series of black line drawings where made in response to Jeannie's European road trip in 2023. Her experience of visiting many countries in a relatively short time span compressed and juxtaposed cultures, compared landscapes and explored presentations of time.
These works explore thoughts of decay and renewal inspired by the unifying fundamentals of architecture across space and time.
The circle is the 'drawing spine' for each configuration in this series, presenting a number of propositions for reinterpretation with The Drawing Kit'.
The repetition of laying down of lines, each with a rise and fall, double over and are suspended on the spine. Scale, gravity and flux are imagined, each line is an imperfect of translation of breath.
